Post ZR2 to be or not to be?

O.K. time to address this issue.I have heard that a true ZR2 has to have a X in the 8th spot of the VIN.My ZR2 has a W.What is the deal with the X and W.This is off the subject.I'm working on one right now and found out those flares on the ZR2s cost $300.00 a piece ,had to share that with you guys.

Re: ZR2 to be or not to be?

The 8th spot is the engine code. For the 4.3 it will either be a Z (TBI) or W (CPI). Good luck.

Vin W on the ZR2's is CSFI (Sequential fuel injection) To check if yours is a true ZR2, simply look for the Zr2 RPO code on the label in the glove box.
