Ok Does California Emissions apply to other states other than CA. say like NY.
I went to replace my O2 sensors thinking I had 2 (federal) found I have 4 (California) on my 99 GC with a 4.0L.
Auto parts store gave me hard time returning the sensors.

No, I do not think the Ca emissions effects any other States emissons test, CA has the toughest SMOG test.

I understand about “California state emissions/ inspection”, I'm not talking about emission standard.
I was wondering if anyone else has a GC ( or knows of one)that was built on order for delivery outside California that has what appears to be a “California” emission equipped engine with 4 O2 sensors.
The auto parts store sold me 2 O2 sensors that were for “except California” 4.0 engines that were the wrong parts.
Any how the cost went from $150 to $330 and I need to wait for the parts.
Go figure.
