brian,

i'm not too familiar with JIC.. how do they compare to other coilover setups? are they a new company? i have some friends that might be interested in this deal.. they don't drive g20s, however they do have cars that are in the application list.

They are one of the most famous suspension companies in Japan and on their racing circuits. They've just started offering products here about 9 months ago.

The quality is top of the line. They come with pillow ball upper mounts which makes the suspension a lot smoother. Their stiffness is probably equal to Koni shocks.

thanks.. my only concern now is that on their website it states that the coilovers are "non height adjustable".

Yeah... I dont know what they mean by "bracket" but its not the spring seat.

The height is definately adjustable....

what does pillow mount do?

I just finished installing my JIC SF-1's about half an hour ago and damn they took a long time!!! The front two were a bitch because of that upper link of whatever its called that is in front of the shock. The rear's were also a pain in the ass because I didn't know how low to adjust them so i had to take of the wheel four times before i had the height i liked. The wheels almost tuck and it looks clean. I took off my 18's so I only know how it is with the stocks. I had the Intrax springs before and these look and feel a lot better. The front is more even with the rear. I was driving around corners so hard my tires were screeching. If you're complaining about how much they cost, then I guess you shouldn't get them then. If you only care about dumping your car then i guess you could get Ground Control for a thrid of the price. Why settle for other cheap suspension when you can get one of the best (if not the best). The JICs dont slam the car, but they do give a more aggressive stance. The coilovers also come with pillowball mounts, meaning that the tops rotate around. So when you lower the car more, the tops tilt a little to compensate. I dunno..im not sure. I know theyre not camber adjustable though. Anyways, get them while the price is good.

If this group buy went on before I got my TEINS, then I would be in .. but welp, no can do :).

I would be in the group buy, if

a) I could sell the TEINS to someone ..
b) I could pay by money-order/check

:)

b-b00gie

Your Teins are pretty new.. I'm sure if you tried you could get $700 for them.

Money order is fine if you decide to go in... ;)

Does anyone know the height specs for these coilovers? As in, how much do they drop the car at the highest setting and how much at the lowest setting? I tried to glean this information from JIC's website, but my Japanese isn't so good these days :D

Well I just found the English spec page... it says for F/R: 7k/5k --what does this mean? Possibly the number of dampening levels?

And it says they are non-height adjustable, lowering the car from 1.5" to 2" -- I thought these were height adjustable?

Also, do we get to choose our spring rates?

Thanks

Hi--

I want to get the mr2 (SW20) crowd in on this group buy. I'm definitely interested in the FLT-A2, but am not sure if this GB is for the SF-1 only. I emailed Luke about a week about pricing but haven't heard from him.

Questions:

1) Are all models (SF and FLT series) included?
2) What are the prices for the ones that are included?
3) How much for shipping to MI?

Thanks--

My spring rates are Front-10K, Rear-8K. I think Luke said somewhere in another post that you can choose softer springs for street driving. As for the drop spec...I would say you can lower it up to 2" (safely). Yesterday, I lowered the front a little more because still had a larger gap than in the back. The front is probably around 2.25" because the wheels are tucking a little and I can't go up my driveway anymore without rubbing my fenders (which makes a loud, horrible noise). When I installed the rears I preset the height too high and the wheel gap looked like it was 3 or 4 inches.

Hey, give me a comparison before I decide to buy in. I was just about to get my suspesion redone. I was going to get GC with KYB AGX with cost a little less then JIC. Which one is better? and please be truthful on this.

Hi i just recently saw this thread, i have a couple of questions about the JIC coilovers. Does anyone have any specs for the coilovers, has it already been made for the DC5 Type R? Can someone willing to ship it to TORONTO?
If so iam 100% sure in.. Because if not i am gonna get TEIN HA.
Thank you

have you found enough people for the group buy yet? Instead of the SF-1, can i get the FLT-a2?? I really want those ones. Those are height-adjustable as well. Let me know! thanx! =)

I don't think this group buy is going on anymore. If you want the adjustable ones, you'll end up paying more of course.
