Re: 98 camero won't go out of park

I have a 95 Camaro and I had a shifting from park problem. When I would press in the button on the gear shift and press the brake, it was hard to shift from park. Sometimes it would sound like plastic breaking and it was hard enough that coins came flying out of my ashtray.
I removed the trim around the shift (it just pops up) and looked at it in park then tried shifting. There is a plastic tab that has a bend on it that should release once the button has been pressed. Mine wasn't releasing. I used WD40 on the tab and the area it connects into. I haven't had it to stick since. I hope this helps.

Thumbs up

Bridget, thank you so much, works like a charm now. And such a
cheap fix. She thanks you, and I thank you.
