90 cierra turns once but won't start

90 cutlass cierra tried to start yesterday a.m. but wouldn't catch then and since then engine turns over once and that's it !! assumed battery failed (5.5 yrs old) so bought new battery and installed but no difference ... have checked inside fuses and basic cable inspection ok but not sure how to proceed ... just over month ago replaced crank position sensor, ignition module, coil packs, starter, and removed 7 year old 'automatic starter', ... spent too much but great body and just rolled 100,000 kms HELP -> turn key - engine rolls once (not actually very fast either) then nothing suggestions please Thanks very kindly, hugh-john

Check, the battery positive terminal cable and trace it. It is usually connected to a remote positive terminal and tightened down with a nut. If that loosen, then you will have starting the engine as the power could not go through that loose cabling on the remote positive terminal.

One way to find out if the starter or battery is the problem, is to use a remote starter switch. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=35448

All you have to do is connect one end of the clip to the battery positive terminal and then the other one on the starter. You just push the button and it should spin the starter which turns over your engine.
