Cold Causes Problems 2

I'm sure you guys are sick of seeing these problems but I've had some interesting things happen lately...the interior dome light started working again after 2 days of inactivity. I ripped apart my headunit and found that if I wiggle the wiring harness a bit (where it connects to the cd player) the static and popping noises start up. Sometimes I would wiggle the harness at the same place and everything would play fine. Right now when these sound problems start I'm losing my rear speakers too. So I've verified that it's not my front speakers, it's not my rear speakers, and it's not the wiring from any of them. Whatever is happening is happening either at the wiring harness itself or the cd player. My real question now is can a wiring harness go bad and cause problems like this for all four of my speakers? The harness look new, nothing burnt or broken, and I'd really like to have some good oppinions here before I go buying a new headunit, for example. I'm thinking this is going to cost me cash either way so if anyone would blame this problem on the harness I'll go replace that first, there's nothing wrong with the display on the headunit so I'm just confused. Oppinions please!

Re: Cold Causes Problems 2

sounds like there is a bunch of wires that are exposed and not properly insulated.

i saw a lot of wires connected together with some type of round connector. is installing a new harness as easy as snapping the two ends in or is there any type of fabrication required? thank you guys.
