Door a jar light and the interiors

Hey guys this is my first post so here are the details. I just bought my first VW. It's a 2003 Golf GLS TDI Loaded 136k nice car but about 5hrs after I bought it. I got it home and my passengar door light stays on and its winter here and it can get to -30 at night so if I leave the light on the battery will die so I pulled the fuse to take care of it for now. I read that is might be a switch in the door attached to the locking mechanism. I tested it myself and when i lock the door with a pen the lights stay on??? does this sound right guys?

Re: Door a jar light and the interiors

It has nothing to do with the locks, it's a switch that is part of the latch mechanism, unfortunately it isn't available seperately.
