vortec 2.2L

I have 2 questions. What is a vortec 2.2L horsepower compared to my regular 2.2L?
And would i have to change out my rear end if i dropped a Vortec 4.3L in my 97' s-10 standard cab? if not what mods would i have to deal with?

Re: vortec 2.2L

AI believe theres just a few differences between the 2.2L`s. However a 4.3L swap is probably not worth it, the motor alone costs more the a Crate 350 and as long as your doing that much work might as well get more "bang for your buck"
I`ve heard the stock rear end can usually take the power of a small block 350/350 but I don`t know if i would push it too hard, definately not slicks! I would personally atleast change the springs and add traction bars to the rear.
