98 corolla brake problems...

my moms got a 98 corolla and the front brakes were changed a few months ago. now..the brand new brakes i put in a few months ago are really worn out. anyone got any info on what could cause my brakes to be worn out so fast? thanks...

I had a car once that had early front brake wear out but on one wheel only. Its was a bad caliper. I presume your Mom isn't riding the brakes as she drives. You didn't say if you changed the rotors. Replacing rotors are always a good idea. It doesn't pay to turn them. They run about $25 each at Autozone but much more at a dealer. Your car calls for semi-metalic pads which should last about 40k to 50k miles. I don't know how long ceramic brakes last, but they are worth a try. I just installed them on my 99 Corolla. I see no difference other than less brake dust. You may try to spin the tire once its jacked up. It should slightly touch the pads. You can feel it. If it drags a lot then the brake isn't returning enough causing your problem
