Unhappy 2000 323Ci warm starting problem

I have a 2000 BMW 323Ci that has around 100K "under its belt."
Lately, I have had problem starting engine when it's warm. If the car rests for 3, 4, or more hours it starts fine but after driving it and leaving for a 15 minutes or so I often have problems starting it again.

While trying to start, the engine chokes and "Check Engine Soon" light comes on. Even after I finally get it to start after few attempts, and drive it for a short distrance, it dies again when I let the car roll at the stop sign on low rpms...

With all its milage, I thought it might be fuel injectors need to be cleaned, but last time I took it to a German mechanic he told me that as long as one uses right fuel (I've always used high octane) he rarely sees this as being a problem on "these cars."

Has any of you had similar problems with your BMW?
I would really appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you,

Wes from Tampa

May be that the ecu is getting the wrong information from a sensor, suggest having the engine temperture sensor checked.
