Re: Mitsubishi Evolution MR vs WRX STI
This comparo has been done many times, but since the MR is new for '05 and the STi is significantly revised, I guess it's okay.

Re: Mitsubishi Evolution MR vs WRX STI
^Amen on that one, but since I'm putting a post it is interesting how the the Sti is slitely slow 0-60 and 0-100 but faster 0-130 does the Evo just get to much drag?

Re: Mitsubishi Evolution MR vs WRX STI
No, it's because the STi has to make an extra shift to 3rd gear before it hits 60, which slows it down some. It's a more powerful car, with less turbo lag and a more torquey feel.

Subby for me, they have similar specs, when it comes down to it for me, the Evo is just hideous, I hate the front end, too small.

Re: Mitsubishi Evolution MR vs WRX STI
Same here. Their performance is great enough that I wouldn't even be able to begin to push either one to its limit. So, it comes down to styling, interior, ride quality, and all around coolness factor, and as far as that goes, I've always liked the STi much better than the Evo, or any other car on the road for that matter.

Re: Mitsubishi Evolution MR vs WRX STI
I think that in long term, Mitsubishi is going to have more problems though. That's why I would get the Sti.

did anyone read the technical article on that car and driver website?
heres the link
http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=1
they put both cars on kumho ecsta mx tires. they say the sti has the better awd system, and that the sti would probably handle better with a little tuning.
