Re: damn thing wont start

Do you have spark? If so, is it possibly flooding?

Re: damn thing wont start

Okay, I would pull the valve cover(s) off. Look for broken springs, and loose rocker arms.and have someone turn the engine overa little at a time. Observe the valve action to see if you notice any valves returning slower than the others.

problem found

My buddy took it all apart and found out that the values were on too tight. He said that the lifters are all bent. He put the valves on too tight and bent the lifters. The rocker arms did not move enough for the lifters and the lifters got compressed inbetween the cam and the rockers. Os now he needs all new lifters and possibly new valves and or rockers. Hopefully just lifters though. He thinks everything else is ok. Thank for your help...

Re: damn thing wont start

I think he means push rods. They can bend. Lifters wont bend, they may collapse but can sometimes pump back up. Good Luck.
