How much horsepower?sky73 01-26-2005, 05:46 PM Hi. I was wondering if anyone would have an idea on how much horsepower this engine is making. 1973 GM 350 2 bolt main bored 30 over comp cams 256 xtreme energy cam world sportsman II cast iron heads (72cc chambers) edelbrock performer intake edelbrock performer 600 cfm carb K&N filter Thank you. Fyter87 01-26-2005, 10:47 PM Not really a true guess, but I would say probably little over 350, I could be totally of though. mik13usa 01-27-2005, 01:49 AM What kind of fuel? compression ratio? Robs71Nova 01-27-2005, 06:22 AM After looking at the specs on it, the cam is too small. Lift: .447''/.454'' Duration: 256°/268° RPM Range: 1000-5200 You have a good set of heads thay are gonna flow alot of air, and .30 overbore which actually makes the motor a 355, but the cam is just to small for the motor. You could also use a slightly bigger carb. As it is, Id say 325 horsepower, and 350ish torque, but that cam is really choking you up. With a better cam, and 650-750 cfm carb, I would put you in the 360-375 horsepower range with around 400 ftlbs of torque. Rob sky73 01-27-2005, 11:30 AM I run 91 octane pump gas comp ratio is around 9.0:1 mik13usa 01-27-2005, 04:01 PM Rob is pretty close, I would guestimate about 300 horses, 350 lbs torque unless the cam gives it plenty of valve movement you are restricted, as well as the 600 CFM Edelbrock, believe it or not the Rochester (Q-Jet) flowed higher to about 730 CFM. sky73 02-15-2005, 06:49 PM Ok.
