91 S10 blazer 4.3 engine floods out

after 15 minute warm up, drove 1/8th mile and engine shut down. Will not restart. Smells of fuel. I checked all ignition parts. all ok. disconnected injector leads and engine runs until fuel in engine burns up. reconnect injector leads and it floods. Changed computer, did not change. Do you have any suggestions?

Sounds like a major leak inside the plenum. Pull the top cover off (where it says Vortec) remove the IMTV and look down inside. More than likely it is the nut kit inside (feed and return fuel lines) or the CPI.

After that much fuel, you will want to do an oil change and filter.

Hello,

The plenum is the air intake.

CPI = central port injection. You have one injector serving six cylinders via a hose connection. This goes bad at 100k miles give or take.

The system is $200 last I checked, and you will need upper plenum gaskets.
