Car starts right up, idles great, but as soon as I press the gas, car dies immediately. If I start to accelerate really, really, slowly, it will accelerate/rev up. Otherwise it just dies. Someone suggested it has a bad Mass Airflow Sensor/Air Mass Meter. Is this accurate? How can I test the sensor? Thanx.

If its the flapper door type there should be a ground, power, and a reference going back to ecu. Get a voltmeter and check all of these to make sure it is working right, make sure that you open the flapper door while you are testing the reference.
It almost sounds like a fuel pressure regulator to me. I have seen a few volvo's with similar symptoms need a regualtor. It sounds backwards. But apparently it's true............
