Re: h22 / b16 sec gen?

The h22 isn't that much heavier than the b16a; 35-50lbs. And unless you install the motor incorrectly, there won't be any damage done to your car fron it at all. If you go to the '92-'95 forum, I wrote up a huge thing about the swap (also explains about the weight thing).
One reason to pick the b16a over the h22 is price. The h22 is going to cost anywhere from $4,000-6,000 to get it in (depends on what parts you buy and if you do the swap yourself). Also if you plan to do SCCA or other autocross events, then the b16a will have the edge on that. Even though the understeer with the h22 swap isn't that bad, you'll still have less with the b16a.
If you're looking for NA, ¼ fast; then the h22 is the way to go. If you're going to use any kind of forced induction in the future, then the b16a will be cheaper (price of motor, swap, and turbo kit together).

Yes, the h22 is "initially" cheaper, but the cost after swapping it in will be more than a b16.

yeah you can buy the whole h22a swap for the same price of the b16a complete swap, but there are quite a few other things you need to buy to get the h22a in there.

Re: h22 / b16 sec gen?

Nope yours is OBD1; '91 or older is OBD0, '92-'95 is OBD1, and '96+ is OBD2

It's just different emmisions controls. Also the ECU plugs are different in shape and wiring (conversion harnesses can help with this). If you get a b16a, you will want to get a '92-'95 engine, it's OBD1.

Edited

Yes you will have to convert it to OBD2, there are a few ways of doing that. Depends on what engine harness and ECU you use.
