my RX8 has rough idle (popping in exhaust)unworth8s 01-23-2005, 10:30 PM Do any RX-8 users notice their car ideling rough after a warm up. My car is so bad it's hard to ignore the vibrations felt as a result of the mis-firing engine. It's been to the dealers twice now and they are not putting a hand on it. The car came back to me without a fix. First time they said it was tied to a recall and passed it off on the recall. Second time, they said they placed on the machine and the car is running as it should. now i just think it's a like. apreciate any feedback on the above. looking to buy a Mazda, VW, or Jeep, DON'T go shopping at Al Sanchez Mazda of Gilroy, CA. drftk1d 01-26-2005, 02:15 PM sounds normal to me, but then again i dont have an rx8 MR2Driver 01-29-2005, 05:48 PM Al Sanchez... "The Viper has struck again" mazdatech 02-01-2005, 01:02 AM Did they ever replace your spark plugs? Mazda has come out with updated plugs since the car has come out. If they won't help you, then break it! My reccomendation is to flood it and have it towed their for repair. It happens all the time and I am sure (90% sure, u might want to check.)that it will be covered the tow bill and the repair. All you have to do is start move it two feet and turn it off, maybe a times/days in a row. If the rx8 doesnt reach operating temp they flood creating a no start. good luck. drftk1d 02-02-2005, 04:57 PM thats a great idea... rotary wonder 06-19-2005, 12:02 PM RX8s do tend to idle a little roughly. It could possibly be related to the catalyst. Have you had problems with flooding? 240slider 03-10-2007, 10:44 PM take it back to the dealer and tell them to check the engine mounts.I'm a tech at a mazda dealer .I get them all the time with the same symptom for the rough idle . Gotian 03-12-2007, 12:02 PM yeah the rough idle is linked to the recall, they change the plugs, cat, upgrade ecu and check the vaccum pressure. Also I have some rough idle on mine, but only when it's extremely hot and humid outside, I live in miami, florida. When it's nice, dry and cool outside The car runs perfect for me. But again even in hot temps it still runs perfect just a little rougher. Time for cooling mods for me. 6dmnbag 03-13-2007, 04:44 AM I dont have any rough Idle problems, it could be any number of things, your plugs, wires wich should not go bad for a long time, bad gas? Or mabey one of your coils is fried. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
