Unhappy silverado

when you put a truck or car in drive is it supost to take off by its self ,mine is doing that,i put in drive and it take off not fast but slow,it does that when im at a stop light,i let off the brake it goes ,i thouhgt there just supost to idle,can anyone give some info of this problem,,sorry for all the misspelled words,,

Everything sounds normal to me. As long as your RPM is not extremely high, what you are describing sounds normal. My 2000 silverado with the 4.8 and auto trans idles in gear anywhere between 500 and 600 RPM and when i let off the brakes at a stop , yes it does creep ahead slowly gaining speed.

yes it is normal. most vehicals will go 10 to 20 mph without ever touching the gas pedal.
