I want to paint my rims but I dont want to have them peel or chip off easilly. I was wondering should I use common clear coat(same line as base) or a clear coat for rims? Mike any ideas for me anyone? I used to just use rim paint with no clears but I want clear this time so it matches the exterior paint finish of the car.

I say either powerdcoat them. Or, use a urethane clear, and base if you can.

This car had acyrlic Laquer from factory so how hard would it be to match the color with uerethane? It is a 1993 ford tempo. Thanks mike.

The capability of matching is only as good as the person mixing it. Besides, its not like a panel against panel so it will be harder to tell if its slightly off.
