Factory cluster swap

I did some research on this, and came up with two seperate answers. I have a 2001 2.2 auto without tac, and I want a tac. I don't like the way aftermarket tacs look in cars, so I want to go with a factory cluster. If I get one from a junk yard with a tac will it plug directly in without modification and work properly? Also will it display the proper milage for my car and not the car I got it off of?

Also any help in getting a wire harness for power windows for a 4 door cavy would be great. The junk yard around me told me they would get it for me, then when I left work and went to get it they told me it was too much work for too little money. All I need is the clips to go into the switch with a little bit of wire and I'll make my own harness from there.

Thanks.

Guess I'll try calling the dealership and see what they say then.

It will show the mileage of the donor. and it probably wont just plug in. Easy way to check. in the fuse box under the hood it'll say Tach on the front. Open it and see if there are two contacts. If so it's wired already!

Re: Factory cluster swap

is it digital? if so the computer holds the milage and with any cluster that fits will show your milage.

Nice. Thanks jayson. I'm going to do that and see how it comes out. IF the tac doesn't work right off the bat I'll find the wire and tap it in accordingly.
