b16 first gen or sec gen?

whats the difference between first gen and 2nd gen of b16 and can i put it the first generation into 93 integra. and is it really worth getting the 2nd gen theres a big price difference. thanks

10hp difference and the 2nd gen is obd1 and comes with hydro tranny

They dont always come with hydro trannys. I have a second gen b16 in a CRX with the YS1 Tranny...

You may have bought it like that, but it did not come like that.

Actually looking at hmotorsonline.com your right. The B16 that came out of the 92-93 Intergra XSi did have th cables but that was the only one to have the cable tranny

Yep, you're correct. I forgot about those XSi with the b16 and the cable tranny. I stand corrected.

i bought a 1st gen jdm b16 for my 91 teg simply because everything swap in ok and it was obd0 and the second gen. is obd1. i was told by the people that are doing my swap for the price difference its not really worth it so i just bought a bunch of mods to go with it for mine.

you'll want to go cable tranny unless you want to do a hydro conversion. you have the option of converting to obd0 or obd1. depending on the price difference it might be worth it to start off with an obd1 engine.
