Street Racing is it dangerous?

Take alook at this link off of another forum and you decide. I would hope we could all think twice about when, and where we do it.

Yeah, someone posted that here. I think it was pretty stupid. I think a 7 year old boy died crossing the street and the car took him out. Shame. Street racing, I know we all do it, but it is really stupid and should be kept to the track. But people will see that, realize how dumb it is, then go do it later on. I guess until it happens to that person, they won't change.

Anybody seen this?

I saw this on TV several weeks ago... they were showing in NY, some street racers racing while other cars are passing by.... they make the other cars wait behind them and race in the middle of the road.

This was the same night fast and the furious came out so I don't know if everyone just got off from the movie.... finally the cops came and cornered all of them.

I say if you're iresponsible enough to race on the streets and endanger others, then you gotta pay the price!

Here is a link to more street racing aftermath photos:

http://www.speedoptions.com/news_headline.asp?aID=1680

Warning: the five at the bottom are VERY graphic. It's enough to scare people off the streets and onto a strip or track, where racing is at its safest!

Unhappy wow this is some sad shit!!!!!

Hmm makes me think more about the street racing! I had a friend die last yr because his best friend and a really good friend of myn race'd the wrong way being stupted and decided to pull the e-brake at about 90mph and put his ACURA INTAGRA (spell) into a spin withc he lost total control of his car and hit his best friend with the ass end of his car he jumped out and and knew something was wrong, walked around the car to see his boy layin their next to his car wish his head cracked open so he picked up his head and held him for the last few minutes of his life, Since then it has taken the police and the courts 4 months or so to be prepared for trial on his last day out in the open in court after he was sentenced he turned to his frineds mom and told her he was sorry he never meant to hurt her son!!! She accepted him for what happend!! Every one still has mixed emotions about the whole thing, but if any street racing is going on out at what they call Rail Head. Every one races one way and one way only! And some peeps pay their respect to to 19yr old who was allways in on a good race.. We all know that in Colorado getting a normal ticket sucks but for racing and not on a track its not a pretty ticket!! lookin at a few yr's walkin to work!!

Thanks for anyone who took the
time to read this story
this is based on a true story
if anyone wants to know!

Sincerly
Branden

Cool

All racing is dangerous, thats why they build race tracks. Yes you can still be killed at the track but no one races with faulty equipment due to scrutineering, and there is always an ambulance and fire crew in attendance. :smoka:

I kinda agree about street racing being dangerous. But its only dangerous if the person doesnt know what they're doing. Street races should be at night or when you're certain that no one is around. Pretty much I do evrey SAFE chance that I get. Those pictures dont scare me becasue I know that the same shit can happen to me when Im driving down the street minding my own business someone could run a red and t-bone me. I maybe stupid but I dont trip about dying when I race. Because I know mine and my car's limits so I know how to handle it...

Cool

You may know your limitations, but what if the guy you are racing doesnt know his?

It could be you, your mate or girlfriend that cops it:smoka:
