weird heating problempatm95 01-18-2005, 04:10 AM Hello. My brother has a '95 or '96 contour (Can't remember what year for sure). Anyway, when he is at a stop, the heater blows cold air. Upon taking off from stop sign, it starts to blow hot air. I have no clue as to what could cause this. Any suggestions? Thanks. BodyKits 01-18-2005, 04:25 AM Check The Thermostat. If Its In A Early Stage Of Going Out It Will Stay Closed At Low Rpms, Another Thing Is Check The Gauge When He Is Stoped Vs When He Is Moving, See If There Is Any Diffirence fry628 01-18-2005, 05:01 PM The cars blend door default is hot and it takes vacuum to move it to cold. When your car is under a load(taking off) it doesn't have enough vacuum to hold the blend door. You can check the little black vacuum line that comes out of the firewall under the hood to the intake to see if it's leaking. You are probably gonna find that the control in the dash is leaking. malcomej@mtco.com 01-23-2005, 08:20 PM Make sure the heater core is not plugged, this will cause heating problems. I had a 95 contour and many cooling problems that occured were all caused by a plugged heater core. Flush with extended core hoses and a garden hose, and it may help the problem. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
