Body by Fisher?

On my 1987 model year Caprice Estate, it says on the metal plate on the floor where the driver door closes, "Body by Fisher," and it shows a little carriage. I looked this up and it says at http://www.musclecarranch.com/bodybyfisherhistory.htm that in '84 they closed their doors forever. So what does "Body by Fisher" mean and why was it still on my '87 when Fisher ended in '84?

I live in Syracuse, NY and we had a GM plant in town called Fisher Guide that produced interior parts for GM cars. That plant closed in 1991. Maybe certain parts of these cars were manufactured at plants with the "Fisher" name, therefore GM could still use that nameplate.

Very interesting article. While reading it, I remembered the full name of the manufacturing plant here in town as "Inland Fisher Guide". I see the Inland name was mentioned in the story.
