Hi I need to get a compressor and I also want to makje sure it is strong enough. I found a craftsman 33 gallon 150psi with 8.6/6.7 @ 40/90 psi. I was wondering if this will be strong enough to use tools like impact gun, grinder, air cut off tool, etc. And I also need to use a spray gun which I think take 7.0 cfm @ 40psi. I just dont want to run out of air so I was wondering If this air compressor will work. Thank you anyone who helps me out

Yea thats a pretty good compressor to start with. If this is for a shop though, and its going to be used constitently, you might want to get something like a 60-80 gallon. But the 33gallon is perfect for personal use.

Most spray guns are 10-14CFM. So you do need stop every once and awhile. The compressor usually catches up pretty quick at 6.7 CFM though.

So, can I run a HVLP gun with that compressor. I found one which said 8.5 @ 40 psi. SO, would that be running it close or would it be running it to close?

Yes. 30+ gallon is a good size for HVLP.

Lonely, Go and spend the extra cash for a 5 Horse- power (220 volts) 60 gal. air compressor. I started with a small compressor. I use a lot of air sanding tools and would constanly run out of air pressure with the small compressor. I do complete paint jobs out of my garage and sometimes I have to strip the paint off with an air sander. I never run out of air pressure with the 5 horse- power compressor.
