1992 G30 W/4l80e no reverse when hot
Hi,
I have a 1992 G30 5.7 V8 and the 4l80e transmission. All the Gears work fine when cold or for the first 15 - 20 miles. After Warming up or traveling a short distance reverse will not work. Also I have notice that All the forward gears work fine except if I try reverse after I have driven it for awhile and then their seems to be some erratic behavior i.e. sometimes not shifting easily into 3rd and sometimes not shifting into 4th unless I let up on the gas. I did drop the pan and their was no metal in the bottom and I replaced the filter and refilled to the proper level’s only recently acquired the Van from a local Auction so I don’t know much about its recent history. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on things I may be able to check before I pull the transmission for a rebuild.
