Had the chance to visit the Chicago auto show last month, and remember seeing a VW wagon which gets something like 45+mpg!

This is very impressive ... I must admit though, I never realized the benefits of owning an auto w/a diesel engine until I checked out that VW!

This brings up a very serious question ... Why haven't US auto makers designed more vehicles w/diesel engines!!?????

Just seems to make sense for a country/government that wants to reduce it's dependency on foreign oil!

More importantly ... I am considering the purchase of an SUV (not ready for a wagon yet) within the next six months, and want to know ...

Do any SUV's, available in the US, come standard w/a diesel engine?

Do any SUV makers offer a diesel engine "option" if ordered special???

you can get a lot ot trucks with a cummings turbo diesel....
dodge i think it the offerer on that one...
but i do believe that ford offers something on that order as well
