I have a 1974 super beetle. I would like to replace the steering wheel, but I can not find a conversion kit. All of the kits exclude the 74 super beetle. Why is this?
if i'm not mistaken, most from like 59-74 steering wheels and various other parts are general..meaning they all work for each other. i may have the years wrong, but i imagine as far as the wheel goes, you can use mostly any year you want.

Looks like you mean an aftermarket steering wheel. If that's the case you'll have to get the correct adapter for your model so the splines will match. I have a sports steering wheel that I intend to install in my '71 beetle and still on the hunt for the correct adapter. Good luck.

I am looking at Mid America Motorworks' catalog right now and they carry a hub adapter for an aftermarket steering wheel for 74-77 Beetles. Go to their website and look it up, and also order their 243 page catalog. Awsome catalog. www.mamotorworks.com hope this helps.
