Fueling Problemsjrl_chubbre 01-11-2005, 01:08 PM I have a 2004 GMC Yukon XL Denali. It has 20000 miles on it. For the last five months I have had problems fueling it - the backpressure cutoff switch on the pump keeps tripping, even though the tank is not filled. This happens no matter where I buy gas. Has anyone else had this problem? phat97yukon 01-11-2005, 05:36 PM Ive had the same problems on old 80's chev trucks ive owned in the past, just dont put nozzle in all the way, only have mabey 1/8th to 1/4 of the way in, try that out and let me know if that helped tonytone 01-12-2005, 12:35 PM Too much vapor lock trapped somewhere in your truck's fuel system? I dunno... Does it happen even if you go to a gas station that has condom-less fuel pump nozzles? jrl_chubbre 01-12-2005, 05:20 PM Too much vapor lock trapped somewhere in your truck's fuel system? I dunno... Does it happen even if you go to a gas station that has condom-less fuel pump nozzles? I can't say I've noticed - most of the refueling is done in NJ - we still have gas attendants pumping the gas - though I believe most pumps have the plastic vapor sleeves. I was reading somewhere on a Porsche site that the tank vents have a solenoid switch that opens and closes the vent - I am not sure why it needs to closed at times. But if it is closed during fueling you get the same problem with a Porsche. Does anyone know if the Yukon has a similar switch on the tank vents? ncinirator 01-14-2005, 06:38 PM Try fueling at night or when its cool out. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
