all i can say is that engine was very improperly tuned. looked like stock internals probably running ton-o-boost and not near enough or high enough octane fuel to handle it. I would hang that rod on my wall. or sell it on ebay.

The whole "back story" is that the douche bolted an FP Green (mid-large sized turbo) onto an otherwise stock GSX and was running FAR more boost than he should have.

I was luckey enough to see some pictures of the block of a stock D16 running over 20 PSI of boost.

An issue a long time ago of either super street or sport compact they installed an edlebrock turbo kit on a D16 that was sapposed to only run 6psi. There was a wastegate malfunction and when they installed it they wanted to do a few runs (too excited) before they took the time to install a boost guage.

They did a 1/4 mile run in low 13's and the driver (before he even saw the time slip) said "wow that was really fast for 6psi" well about 10 sec later they swiss cheesed the bottom end. It look like somebody took a 30aut. 6 to it. then threw some bent rods and scorched pistons at it. ill see if i can track down thoes pics.

Also, did anyone else pay attention to what the blown engine sounded like? First it blew like a normal engine and then you heard chunks of block hitting the pavement that sounded like a beer bottle busting agiasnt a wall then the peaces falling to the ground.

Putting that turbo or any aftermarket turbo on a stock 4g63 is just asking for it.

But why would someone who knew how to take their motor apart (end of vid) be so stupid as to not make the proper mods?

learning to tear an engine down by taking auto mechanics in HS is one thing. Knowing when to stop boosting is another.
