best truck for Speed
I am goning to get a truck for several reasons. Need the bed for my work, and the 4wd for the bad conditions here. But I want somthing that can haul. What is the fastest, most modable truck from any generation of cars (2000's, 90's, 80's, 70's, 60's, 50's, even 40's0. Discluding the SRT-10, and the 150-Lightnig. To expensive. My budget will be around 7 grand.

Trucks are not built unfortunately for what you want. You are also pretty limited on what you can get because of your budget. So you need to decide which stuff is most importent. Some of my recommendations are the GM 4.3LV6 in a 1500 series, Ford I-6 300 in a F-150, and the Dodge 3.9L(I believe) V-6 in a Ram1500 or Dakota . The trucks with V8s are mostly out of your price range.

Re: best truck for Speed
the GMC Syclone is exactly what your looking for, an AWD Pickup that runs low 14's stock. They're quite rare though.

Re: best truck for Speed
For 7 grand you can have a sweet 1970's chevy p/u. Find one in decent shape for 2500 and you still have 4500 to work with. All the Lightning will be seeing is your tail lights.

Re: best truck for Speed
My friend has a 1986 3/4 ton Chevy pickup he spent about $1,800 on the truck and another $5,000 to $7,000 on building the truck up. He can probably run high 13's but he's never taken it to the track. PM me and I can give you the full list of his mods if you want.

Re: best truck for Speed
Uhh, got my Lightning(Gen 1, the real Lightnings ) for 7grand, not that fast anymore but it sure can handle well. Though if you want older truck, chevydrummer76's truck looks sweet.

Re: best truck for Speed
it wouldn't really be a syclone, it would just be a turbo'd S10. You also wouldn't get the full time AWD system that the syclone had.
