what do you guys think of this lip kit for my car? My car is silver and other than that the body will be exactly the same. Im looking for something thats not ricey and adds a good look to the car. this kit isnt to expensive, 550 Shipped to my house. Any ideas how much the paint will cost? Its the front and rear valances as well as side skirts.

lip kits tend not to be that noticable. If you plan to have a showy car then don't get that kit. cause most people won't even notice. especialy because newer cavs have a factory kit that looks just like that. there's nothing unique or custom about it.

I wouldn't waste my time with appearance mods, Jayson...regardless of what you do to it it's still going to be a cavalier. Put that money into performance!

I think it looks pretty good, i like the not-too-flashy look :D
Also, it's not too expensive... i think it looks good, especially w/ that low cost

but 500 bucks more in the engine would be nice

By the time you're done with it, you can expect to spend close to 1000 on it. Put it in the engine.

500 for engine = GOOD

I'm not sure what 500 will get you to mod an Ecotec. The best mod I can think of for an ecotec is a supercharger...which costs way more then 500.

good thing i dont have an ecotec and i already have a supercharger. . .

would it look better to get my windows tinted? My car has very good performance right now for a cavalier, im kinda looking to make to make it look a little better.

Spend it on go fast mods.

Nothing ticks a guy off more than being wasted by a stock looking car.

Personally, I like it, i like lip kits a whole lot more than a reg. body kit as the lip kit uses the existing curves. Plus your car already has a supercharger and is hanging with alot of supposed to be alot faster cars, so i say go for it. Looking at your Cardomain site however, I would suggest maybe lower it and get new rims before you add a kit. Something about a kit not being lowered and having stock rims doesnt really compliment the car well; on most cars anyway.

I think that pic of the red cav is one of the nicest loooking cavaliers i've seen, but i gotta agree with what most of the rest here said. Spend the money on performance mods first. I dont know a lot about modding cars, but im sure u can get a chunk of performance with that cash.

ok well you guys partially convinced me, so im currently bidding on a 58mm TB on ebay, the stock one is 52mm. 75 bucks and im the only bid with 1 day left. But im still gonna do an exterior mod, either window tints, or im gonna get the front and rear valances their, and just stick to my stock side skirts for now.

I know everyone else here has already said it, but i gotta put my 2 cents in real quick. Always put performance before looks. You said yourself your not looking to make it a show car, so looks shouldn't be that important to you compared to performance. It's always better to have a stock looking car that suprises the tricked out ricer BEHIND you, than to have a tricked out car reading the licence plate of the guy who just killed you.

alright. . .performance mods i go, im gonna also buy a autotrans inerceptor i think. Will make my automatic trans shift faster and harder as well as reduce any sliping i might have.

your car's 1/4 mile is 14.7!!!!!!!!!!! OMG you could dust a stock eclipse GST. seriously, i can't imagine racing you and losing. my ego would have to land!

for exterior mods, start with 17" rims and tires, then maybe Altezas or projector headlights.

rims and tires, and tail lights woudl be more noticable IMH than a simple lip kit.

and thats an automatic too, dont' forget that, which means...14.7 everytime w/ no misshifts

forget the lip, see what you can do about upgrading or switching the tranny w/ GM!!!

yeah im kinda forgetting it now, by the end of next summer i want to be into the 13's, just dipping in will be good enough. And yes ive put many eclipses to shame. Im about to win a bid on ebay for a bigger TB. Then i think im gonna do a 2.5 inch exhaust, and finally a smaller pulley to raise my boost from 4.5 PSI to almost 7 PSI.

I think it makes the car look better than stock, but I wouldn't spend money on a body kit I would put it into performance mods. That's just me though.

Still not as noticeable as the im an asshole sticker on your forehead. He didnt do anything to you, leave him alone.

whoa, i don't know where that attempted flaming came from... don't get me wrong, it looks nice.. but more praticality comes from putting it into the engine, but dude, it's your money , if you want altezza's go for it.

[QUOTE= if you want altezza's go for it.[/QUOTE]

He never said he wanted them in the first place now did he?

I would suggest you do whatever you wanna do, I know it's sometimes hard to not modifie the exterior of yr car and if you realy want to add a bodykit or lip kit then you have my clearance to do it, and i think you have chosen a nice kit there.
But don't OVERmodifie the exterior cause then you would come in the ricer zone wich is a very dangerous zone IMO. Y,cause everybody who is a bit smarter then my left nut will laff with you and yr "souped up" ricer. Attention, I never said you are a ricer, in fact Jayson, yr the opposite of them, but I bet you already knew all this shit i just typed :p

ciao

Underground_Killah

now i know he didn't say altezza's... i just meant that as an example.

but for car's like mine, where there's NO Aftermarket for anything exterior, performance is all i can do, you have a wider selection. If you get the body kit, kick ass. good for you. if you put it into the engine (my opinion a better plan) even cooler. whatever floats your boat bro

darn, 20 mins left on the TB on ebay, i was the high and only bidder, came back 20 mins later to claim my prize, someone out bid me. . .damn ebay.

ah man, that is real F.U.B.A.R.

I bet the guy was sitting there on his pc counting down for the last second to send his bid and claim the price. Well, he outsmarted you,
better luck next time

PS, go for the lip kit

I think you should keep the cavy stock looking...you'd leave a lot of people scratching their heads...no one expects a cavy to run mid-14's...go for the smaller pulleys and the shift kid, forget about the aesthetics.
