starter growl

went to start my 87 f-150 with 302, turneed the key and it just kinda growled and thats it. the fuel pump kicks on, the headlight s are bright, and the batts not dead. it was like 2 below, and the truck has alot of snow around it. would the cold make the starter not work right? havent messed with it yet, to damn cold. just curious iif the cold will sometimes not let the starter work corectly.it sat for a week, but its been starting fine before.

Re: starter growl

I have a 85 F150 and mine has done thre same thing. Not always but every now and then specialy with those kind of temps. Yes and a lot of snow can also be hard on it. You could also have a starter going bad. Good luck!
