s2k...tc...almost a race

so im driving home from work... theres a red light up ahead im in the right lane there sits a yellow honda s2k looked stock...im not too familiar with them...but im pretty sure it wasnt the latest model, i know id get my ass handed to me on a plate if i tried racin him so i just sat there minding my own buisness...not even 5 secs later he starts to rev...i looked over but he was starin straigh ahead...so i put it in neutral and did the same. still he didnt look over...the light turned green...he didnt gun it as i had anticipated but he accelerated aggresively...we were about even when i thought to myself oh what the hell i floor it and get about 1/4 car length on him...when all of a sudden he slows down and makes a turn.... the s2k is about 2700lbs and makes 153ft lbs tq i weigh about 200 lbs more and make 163ft lbs tq this question might seem stupid but i dont know that much about mechanics and the technical aspect of racing...but from a dead stop..we both floor it who would have the advantage?

I think he would have won, those S2Ks seem pretty fast. Never seen one in action though.

Re: s2k...tc...almost a race

S2000 would hand you it from start to finish. That thing beasted me...mmmmhmm...handed to me like a trooper. Not like I didnt know it was coming. RWD...240HP...light as hell...6spd with short gears = PWNAGE. Very nice balanced car which really shines in the high RPMs cause its redline is like 9K oe something ridiculous, but it gets to those RPM's very fast. Just my experience with it when my car was completely stock(yes even with stock airbox), but I doubt I would do much more to it now.

You have to be a REALLY good driver to get a good start in one of those things, as you'll bog it if you launch at anything below 7 large, lol.

The s2k is one of the most agile cars in it's pricerange. That is one honda I would not mind owning.

I totally owned a stock S2000 because it launched so horribly.

Re: s2k...tc...almost a race

LOL... I was cruising along side an S2000 once in the LeSabre T-Type, i looked over and he looked at me thinking i wanted to race or something. Then he saw the T-Type badge on the Pillar and worded "No" while shaking his head. We got to the stoplight and he asked me if it was really a T-Type and i said "yeah of course." him- "No, i know better than to play with those Turbo Buicks." I just smiled and drove off. Little did he know my Buick has no FI at all.

Yeah, not something I'd want for every day driving, but they are pretty quick. Even though they don't have a lot of toruqe, like someone said, they can get their rpms up pretty quickly. 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile he'd have you by a lot. Do you have a stock TC? He would deffinitely beat you from a roll.
