h22a4 into a 6th gen accordtenzoracerevovii 03-08-2002, 12:05 AM wassup guys........ok....here's the deal......my friend wants to be unique and pretty quick........he has a 6th gen accord......not that many fast accords......im not saying accords are slow, just, i personally haven't seen much......anyways, i say drop in an h22a4..... i think that engine has way more potential than the stock f23.....but some other guy keeps telling him the "immobilizer" (which i have no idea what it is.....give me a break, im 15 and im in auto shop 1-2....:D) anyways, he says something about the immobilizer being a bitch and u have the reprogram the ecu?........is that true?.....can someone explain this to me?.......thanks.......you guys can IM me at the same SN cuz i would like to know ASAP.......thanks guys.....:D 90CRXZCSi 03-08-2002, 03:06 PM You wouldnt have to reprogram anything if you got the ECU from the prelude. Everything should bolt in and be plug and play. tenzoracerevovii 03-08-2002, 10:05 PM that's what i was thinking too.......i don't understand why it wouldn't work in an accord if you brought over the complete h22 longblock......well.....thanks for the advice......:D VTECseoul 03-13-2002, 07:09 AM exactly, you should be getting the 2.2L DOHC VTEC motor, 5 spd tranny, ECU , wires & harness...some shops will give you the headers & motor mounts, ask them before ordering. it's a drop in motor like the Civics'/Integras' "D" & "B" series engines. BTW, if your friend got a 3.0L V6, he coulda swapped the Type-S 260hp 3.2L motor, but that's for a whole new subject. tenzoracerevovii 03-13-2002, 06:49 PM that's what i thought......but i guess all hondas....i think 98 and newer have immobilizer systems that sends a code from the key to the ecu to start the car.......all this is from a guy from another forum.....he said the car won't work unless i bypass the immobilizer by reprograming the ecu......anyone know about this?....... Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
