What is the red light for on the '93 Camry?
The light is on the dash just to left of the steering column / just to the right of the drivers a/c vent.

Its been on for several weeks and stays on even when the car is turned off. Bought the car used from an individual - no maual.

Sounds like some kind of alarm/anti-theft system. Is it possible to contact the person you bought it from, and ask them?

it could also be a deterant light. There may not be a security system but the red LED is to trick people into thinking there is one.
