2003 fuel filter removal ???

I need to remove the old filter and install a new one. The plastic connector is nothing like the one on our '97 Cvalier. This one is a large black plastic block with a green tab. It is NOT the older type with the squeeze tabs at the end. Anyone know how to release the filter from the new style connector? Thanks.

03 Cavalier Fuel Filter

I'm working on replacing the filter and fuel pump. I was able to unlock the connection using a small standard screwdriver after I looked at the connectors on the new fuel pump. I inserted the screwdriver into the center of the colored lock in a gap that was visible and twisted it until the lock opened.

Re: 2003 fuel filter removal ???

Thanks for replying. I talked to my dealer's service manager and he explained it to me. As you said, the green tab unsnaps ( I didn't even need a screwdriver) and then the whole green clip is pushed up and away until the filter can be removed. Reverse for installing new filter. It was easy.
