Question Wiring Speakers

I recently bough a new 6 x 9 Alpine speakers for my 98 cavalier. But the wiring for my new speakers seems to be different from the factory speakers. How do I install my new speakers? You can find the wiring pictures of my new and old speakers here. http://files.automotiveforums.com/ga...?ppuser=279142
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Wiring Speakers

to get the old speakers out, you had to unplug them. how many wires are there running into the plug and what color are they? you will use those wires to power your new speakers, but you have to pick the right ones if there are more than two.

Re: Wiring Speakers

if you have more than 2.. you should call somebody. ummm you talkin about the difference in the connector, you have to either cut the old adapter off and splice the wires, or use a piggyback wire connector to tap into the line. in either case, make sure that you get the polarity correct on each speaker, or your cones could be going in different directions cancelling each other out.

Re: Wiring Speakers

if there are 4 wires, you just have to cut two of them off. no big deal. that's how i did mine. no problem at all. won't hurt anything if you pick the wrong two, as long as you test them at a low volume.

Re: Wiring Speakers

on the left yellow is for the wire with the stripe (tracer) and brown for the non-striped. on the right light blue for the striped and dark for no stripey there!
