I do not have the cash to take it to a shop... I am sure that I can do it by myself... IF I KNEW WHERE TO START!! So, please, if any one can help, that would be great!

Re: 1994 Honda Civic LX, 5 speed trans. Help!!!

Ill Try To Help U The Best That I Can With The Knowledge I Have Learned. The Best Thing That I Can Tell You Is To Go To A Auto Parts Dealer And Pick Up A Book That Is For Your Car Like Haynes Manuals. The'll Tell U Everything Like What You Are Needing To Do. It Helps Alot For Stuff Like This. Trust Me I Know.On The 5 Speed Trans They Have A Plug At The Bottom That Will Let You Drain It On The Filling Part Theres Another Plug Fill It Up To The Plug Make Sure You Us The Right Fluid.

well assuming you dont have an automatic transmission where you can just check on the ATF dipstick, you have to do some mechanical work
there is no way to actually check the exact level, but the best thing you can do is to 1. jack up the car on the passenger side behind the front tire and take the wheel off. when you look inward at the tranny from the outside of the right front fender you will see a 17mm bolt in the top left, the only large ass bolt that does not appear to be holding anything on, thats the fill spot. if you buy or use a eer bong contraption (a funnel with a two foot long hose connected to it, you can pour the fluid into the funner and place the hose inside the transmission fill hole until it starts to overflow. while you are down there look for any signs of leakage. i know i shoudl say this but when i filled mine up a month ago there was a huge crack and i just wiped some JB weld, over it, you can buy it at your local auto shop, and it looks ugly but i would have paid hundreds to get it welded otherwise. the site with a p ic of all this is http://www.honda.co.uk/owner/civicManual/pdf/13-3.pdf
the bottom left diagram shows you what is what.
