On my 1995 JGC overhead display the outside temp display shows
"OC" but the compass still works fine.

I think possibly my ambient air temp sensor is the issue?

Anyone have this issue?

I tried toggling the US/Metric to no effect, I performed the self diagnostic per the service manual by pressing both of the overhead buttons at the same time with the key in the off position then turning the key to the on position while still holding the two buttons, It performs a walk test then displays "CCD" on the screen which leads to either a bus communication issue or a bad sensor.

I am going to obtain a new ambient air temp sensor and try that.
