Various Turbo Kits for the SR20DEDcshoecousa 03-06-2002, 01:08 AM sr20de As you all probably know, I am new here. Nissan wasn't my domain, as I worked mostly with DSM vehicles/Honda/Acura. I need links to sites that offer a turbo kit for the sr20de. Would be greatly appreciated. I like to order my kit asap before summer comes around. Hotshot sells a kit that uses the T3 turbo? It's larger than the T25/T28 and as will have better top end power, while spinning at lower RPMs and creating less heat and turblence. The T3 is a very old turbo and as has relatively low efficiency. So hmmm .. Since it's more costly to buy all the pieces individually, I'd like to know who produces kits for the sr20de so I can do my own homework. I know like DSMs, you have hahncraft and star kits, people have their different opinions on turbochargers, so I don't think I'd ever ask people the classic FAQ question "what is the best turbo". Basically, I am looking for people's opionins who have installed a kit, and feedback would be appreciated. Once I get out the websites combined with personal opinions and facts, then I'd like to make my own descision and not ask questions that have been perhaps brought up many times. Info appreciated, thank you for your time. Please feel free to email me also, mart.renaud@sympatico.ca p_r_i_m_e_r_a 03-06-2002, 05:21 AM Dcshoecousa 03-06-2002, 07:05 AM Thanks, I checked out JWT/Hotspot also. Discovered it while doing research. Also, I need a site for pistons, valves, rods, internal upgrades, is there an engine FAQ I can check out? I dislike asking repeated questions, hence being new. I will start reading the archives from work for sure. I love staring at the new G20, curse this snow for the time being :( Thanks again, appreciate it. - Martyn 95flG20 03-06-2002, 02:02 PM just get ahold of an SR20DET. do the motor swap and you will be all set. it would also be way cheeper than buying all the parts to make a sr20de a det. You won't find any G20 owners here that have installed a 'kit'. Unless you consider the DET a kit. There are no 'kits' available for any G20. At the very least you'll have to fab up your own pipes. So most don't bother and just piece something together. As for internals pistons are rods are all you really need if you want big power. You can get away with using stock BB det or GTi-R rods and pistons if you want lower compression. Or just call JWT and talk to them about it. Probably one of the best SR20DE tuners in NA. Also check out the SE-R list archives. www.se-r-list.org/archives/. You'll find all sorts of info there. I mean tonnes! Dcshoecousa 03-06-2002, 02:51 PM JWT/Hotspot makes a kit for the sr20de. I guess I have to do research on the blue bird. Blue Bird SR20DET $2500+shipping http://www.unstable-hybrids.com/FWDSR20DET/FWDBBSR20DET.jpg I'll try to get the specs on the Blue Bird which is a common swap, perhaps it would be better to go with a swap. Since a kit is over 3k. Thanks for the info. I'll check out the blue bird specs. G-Forces 03-06-2002, 05:27 PM Originally posted by Dcshoecousa JWT/Hotspot makes a kit for the sr20de. JWT makes no kit for the G20 and with the hotshot kit you'll get a bunch of useless tubing that won't fit correctly on the G20! Yes you can make a 'kit' work but you'll need to do some cutting to your ECU harness to get a working JWT ECU and the piping will need to be fab'd up to work with the G20. Soooo, going back to what I JUST said you'll be better off piecing together a system where you can pick the parts you like best. Like a TIAL wastegate instead of the shitty Deltagate in the hotshot kit. Give this thread a good read, I should help a bit more. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t33611.html Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
