taking off my shiftknob

i have a 94 si and it didnt come with the owners manual, so could anyone tell me how to remove the factory shiftknob im going to put on a new leather one.

The shift boot connects to the bottom of the shift knob with a spring clip. Pull down on the silver (or black) clip at the base of the shift knob and it will unclip from the shift boot. Then you can unscrew the shift knob.

yeah you really have to pull on it though. It isn't easy to get off atleast mine isn't. I'm always taking it off to get to my headunit and if I know I'm going to have to get in there again soon I don't even clip it back on.

Yeah mine's a pain in the neck too. BTW you won't be able to clip the shift boot back on to an aftermarket shift knob.
