How fast in 4Lo Lock

Just wondering...whats the limit on how fast you can go in 4Lo in my truck....never really had a need for 4 lo...except for the Oh Shit road i went on while mudding....couldn't go anywhere in 4 hi...stuck it in Lo and damn if i didn't go like a bat outa hell up that hill (well as fast as you can go leaving HUGE ruts in a dirt road), after getting out of the ditch....but thats a different story

-Thanks

I wouldn't want to find out, it's really just ment for when you have to gear way down with stuff like rock climbing, and crawling through ditches

Re: How fast in 4Lo Lock

The reason i was wondering was that my dad was tlaking about how you can beat mustangs, camaros, TA's, and other stuff in stoplight racing (short stoplights by the way), just drop it in 4Lo loc and punch it, 45mph in about 45 feet..lol....thats why I was wondering

45 mph in low lock and you will not keep the engine together very long

Re: How fast in 4Lo Lock

I would hope that your dad would be a little more mature than to think about ways to win stop light races.

you should never use 4 wheel drive on dry pavement, it'll literlaly start braking things in the drive system.

Re: How fast in 4Lo Lock

When I test drove my truck,I put it in 4 LO and I got it going about 30 or 35 and it disengaged by itself.

Re: How fast in 4Lo Lock

YOu have to realize though OverBoardProject, this was years ago in a certified P.O.S. 77 Chevy 4x4 Farm Truck. No loss what so ever, this was in highschool/college. But there isn't much he hasen't done in a vehicle, built drag cars, high perf engines, and lots of other stuff, and he is also the best driver I know, and I am not saying that just because he is my dad.....
