No Heat

I have a 96 blazer 2 wheel drive, with the 4.3 CPI motor, i have no heat, i just put in a thermostat, and a new cap. I checked the heater hoses and one will be warm and the other cold and then they will both be hot, then warm and cold again. Does anybody know if this car has a heater control valve?? Cause it doesnt show it in the haynes manual. Thanks Mike

Mike- I have a 97 chevy blazer 4x4 that has lost the heat two times...Replaced the thermostat, and found out that you need to have someone flush the cooling system including that heater core with an acid solution. I had it flushed once, but they just ussed water and the contaminants came back and plugged the system. So another mechanic did it with a acid solution and a cleaning solution that got rid of the crap and now it works good.

Good luck.

Re: No Heat

You will have to have the whole system reverse flushed to get all the gunk out of your heater core and system.

If you haven't replaced the coolant, you have to, yours is waaay over due.
