Re: performance

driving skills and ability is a combination of reacting to other drivers and taking corners at a responsible speed.. my tires pitch and yaw make me understeer alot, i tried to decrease the tire pressure a bit but its still pretty bad.. im going to invest in some new tires and rims.

Did you know that increasing the diam of your rim even if it weighs less then the original rim will decrese the hp at the wheel. this is due to the inertia being spread out therefore taking more power to spin the wheel. Sounds like you may be hitting the gas to early when you are turning if you experience lots of understeer. Try left foot braking (practice this first!!!) to shif tthe cars weight forward mid turn while still regulating the throttle and the front end will regain taction and you will have no more understeer. Too much brake however and you can hit a spot of oversteer!!!

Track show most skill as you have to be able to completely control the car and not just mash the gas!!! Braking points and when to apply the power aren't really things that can be completely taught so this obviously has to do with skill. This is why not everybody is a sponsored racing driver.

The above does not apply to Nascar as oval track racing is stupid! they have 4 gears and they only time they use anything other then fourth is when they start, pit or spin-out!!! Also the tires are biased so that the car turns the corner naturally ans steering input has to be used to keep the car straight on the straight! All this comes down to is nerve. How close will you get in order to pass.
