ok im new hear to the supra forum so please be gental on me, i want to start a new project turboing a sc300, basically get a 5sp sc300 and install the f-max turbo kit, it comes with everythings (supposdly) to do the swap,

my quesion is does it realy come with everytihng or do i have to look into fmu, can i use a safc for now to tune or do i need stand alone? afc is way cheaper, and later i will get standalone, as for starting off i only want a modest 300whp and 7-8psi of boost, untill i start to look into fmu and ignition timings, and internals(greddy 2mm head gasket 8.5:1 comp)
is it possible to buy this kit and jsut "bolt it on" and have the car run? or will i need fmu? i know it has to be tuned, heres the link for the kit

thanks

also can i get this kit to work on a sc300, its designed for the is300 but its more complete, or will i have clearence issues with the turbo?

you can turbo the motor very easily with a turbo kit for a na-t supra. They are for sale just about anywhere now. If you just want to be a street car, stick with a safc, no need for a stand alone unless your going for high #'s. any other questions just ask away

yes finally a response!

ok well how bad is detonation in a n/a 2jz motor when you turbo it, i hear its pretty bad when you add on the turbo kit, also how good are these f-max kits? do they last long or is it only good for a yr. before the mainflod cracks? the turbo i have no worries about, it seems like a good size i believe its a .68 a/r thats big enuff for me that should spool pretty decent and give me power to red-line. i want to make 6oowhp in the end of this project, so i will need stand alone right? also how far can i go with a stock internal 2jz? i know the head gasket has to be changer for anything over 14psi, also the fuel and igniton sys have to be looked into?
aslo why do people to twin fuel pumps when upgrading their fuel system? and whats the deal with putting dsm ristors for the sc ignition when upgrading? basicall besides the turbokit which the link is there, what esle do i have to do to have a realible daily drivin turbo sc300 with 400whp.
thanks again

If all your shooting for is 600, it won't be that hard. All you really need is the motor itself, a built transmission, a good solid TT supra rear end, preferably a 6 spd rear end, a SAFC with roughly 720cc injectors, I'd advise on a front mount, a turbo of your choosing, and seat time to drive it and you should be just fine. No need for a stand alone unless it's going to be an all out drag car that's tuned for the track. You shouldn't need one on the numbers your shooting for. I'm not familiar with your turbo kits your looking at. I never really shopped too much on my car. I bought most of my stuff from reputable companies that I've known for a long time. Ask around to some other supra owners or any owners of those turbo kits and get some feed back from them. I would go with a tubular manifold or a log style myself. Good luck with the project, let me know how it goes.

Oh yeah, since it is a n/a your compression will be higher of course, go ahead and rebuild the motor while your at it if this is really what you want to do.

is it possible to take the turbo accesories from a 2jzgte and install them in a 2jzge?

whoa... why bother? The 2jz-ge is not the same as the 2jz-gte. If you are serious, then go buy a 2jz-gte and do it right.
