e-type pricing

A friend of mine has a jaguar e-type and I want to buy it off of him. I'm wondering how much he should be asking for it.

The car has had no colisions, it has some surface rust, it has been sitting on its wheels for over a decade, the engine won't start, the interior is pretty nasty, the suspension probably needs replacing, the exhaust system is rusted and needs replacing, weather stripping is rotten.

I also want to know about how much money it will cost to restore it and what kind of things I could modify/upgrade without reducing the price. I was thinking of things like: better exhaust system, better intake system, better suspension, different color (i think jaguar green with white racing stripes), better carbs (maybe), a/c, more comfotable/attractive interior (thinking white and green theme and leather seets), better transmission (maybe 5 speed, needs replacement anyway)

If any of the above would really lower the value please tell me and if there's more please tell me.

Re: e-type pricing

what year?

beware that old british cars are very tempermental, rust very easily, and are often expensive to repair.

I'd say you're looking at spending at least $20000 USD to get that car back into good shape.
