Unhappy Electronic distributors

I have a standard HEI distributor and I want to put a high performance distributor on it. I am not sure which one would be the best to obtain. I do not want to change my wiring harness and some of the ones I have looked at have a remote coil on them. Will this plug into my wiring harness or will I need to cut and splice into it, which is what I do not want to do? I have had suggestions for Mallory but they all have a remote coil. Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on the subject. I have a 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo with a 350 at 11:1 compression. I need something with a little hotter spark so that it will start a little easier and hopefully run a little better. Thank you very much in advance for any help.
