Re: replacement remotes programming

You can only program it if you have one working remote. If this is the only remote you have and it doesn't work you'll have to take it in to the dealership. Here are some instructions I found, I don't know what year they're for and not sure if they work but maybe someone can verify.
1. Locate the dark green program enable wire connected to pin #1 of the 16-way data link connector under the left side Of the Instrument panel.

2. Connect the program enable more terminal to a good ground.

3. Insert the key into the ignition and turn the ignition switch to the ON position. The power locks will cycle (Lock and Unlock) indicating that program mode has been entered.

4. Using the transmitter to be programmed, press either [LOCK] or [UNLOCK]. The power locks will cycle indicating the transmitter has been programmed successfully.

5. Repeat step 4 to program additional transmitter.

6. Disconnect the program enable wire from ground to exit program mode.

7. Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the key

"I HAVE AWORKING REMOTE" Does anybody have intructions to program extra remotes?
In case anybody might have the same problem I found how to program extra remotes if you have at least one remote working.
This will work for T/C 1996 to 2000
Get in the van and shut door close, put key in ignition to turn on, using programed FOB, press and hold unlock button for 5-10 seconds, after 5 seconds press panic button(both buttons are pressed now), release boths bottons at the same time, you should now hear a chime, now in 30 seconds press lock and unlock button at the same time until you hear a beep, remember you have only 30 seconds to program all your remotes.

walbern, I have a 1999 plymouth grand voyager. tried your suggested fix to program remotes. when i connected a ground wire to the dark green wire i got a little spark, tried to program the remotes, and it didn't work... later i realized that the spark took out my radio, and now the electric door locks don't work when the key is in the off position... could grounding the green wire on a this vehicle have caused this damage - i'm now wondering if i grounded the red wire by mistake, could that have caused this? i checked all the fuses in the engine compartment and under the dash and can't see any bad ones. i just hope i haven't done more damage than it was worth...

does anyone have any ideas what i should check...

OK FELLAS

Here it is an extract from the owners manual for a 1997 Voyager:

To Program Transmitters:

This feature allows you to program transmitters in case
one is lost or an extra transmitter(s) is desired. Up to 4
transmitters can be programmed to your vehicle. To
program another transmitter follow these steps:

1. Turn ignition switch to the ON position and leave
vehicle in park.

2. Using a previously programmed transmitter, press the
unlock the UNLOCK button for 5 to 10 seconds. While the
UNLOCK button is being pressed, press the PANIC button
and release both buttons simultaneously. You will hear a
chime sound to signal you that programming on the new
transmitter(s) may occur.

3. Press and release any button on each transmitter,
including the previously programmed transmitter, you
wish to program (up to 4). You will hear a beep when a
transmitter has been successfully programmed in. You
will have 30 seconds to complete the programming of all
desired transmitters. A chime will sound when the 30
seconds is over, or if you turn the ignition switch off.
If you do not have a programmed transmitter, contact
your dealer for details.
