help me find inexpensive stock exhaust

guys im in need of a replacement exhaust system for a 92 subaru legacy 2wd wagon. its my grandpa's car bu he only needs the car to last a few winters, so the exhaust only has to last that long. the current one is in shambles from NY salt
so he needs the whole exhaust starting with the ypipe to the very end.

if u know of some good forums or sites or anything where i might be able to find a stock exhaust or even a VERY inexpensive aftermarket replacement setup id really appreciate everyone's help.

thank u !!

I don't how bad shape your exhaust is but here's what I did with my 90 Suburu Legacy . The muffler near the rear bumper. I don't know if it's called a resonator or not. I just removed it( It had a hole and the ends were rusted pretty good) and went with a straight pipe with a resonator exhaust tip. Maybe $20 total. The sound is not loud at all. Matter of fact, it sounds pretty much like a GM V8. Turns a few heads at the stop light.

Either do as Will2 said and straightpipe a lot of it (cause the catalytic converters and resonator are pretty much useless by now anyway) or you can try a junkyard. I beleive anything from a 90-94 subaru would fit. Maybe even something a little newer

Re: help me find inexpensive stock exhaust

Pep Boys and maybe JC Whitney have some rugged, bendable exhaust pipe. Not the cheap flexible tubing but pipe that is ribbed is some locations so you can bend it to fit your application. I've never used it but if I was looking for an inexpensive fix I would give it some consideration. But let me say again not the cheap felixible exhaust tubing. It doesn't last very long at all.

Re: help me find inexpensive stock exhaust

You can get a cheap muffler and resonator from the junkyard off of any car with the same size inlet pipe, then get your local exhaust shop to weld them up with some new plumbing. Or find somebody with a project car or street rod and get their old muffler for free. Basically a muffler is a muffler is a muffler, for your application.
